How to Check Password Protected Websites

Web Link Validator can access password-protected pages. However, each page or directory of a protected site must have the same user name and password.

To specify the user name and password for the current profile:

1. Select Action -> Profile ().

2. Select the Authentication section.

3. Check the box labeled Logon Required.

4. Enter your user name and password in the fields provided.

5. Press OK.

Please note that the Authentication settings work only for Web server-based authentication. If your website uses HTML-based authentication, you should use POST Method in the Starting URLs section.
